The day started out very hot, nearly 90 degrees F but not as humid as it has been. Apparently it is the last day of intense heat and tomorrow will be 80 something, so much more comfortable hopefully. Came over to Pat's for breakfast which he made in true American style. He went out to a retirement party and so I took everyone in the car, to Whipple Beach and we had a good half an hour enjoying all the activity on the beach which was mainly young families enjoying the water and the lovely weather.
By now Pat was back, we had the cool box filled up with drinks and off we went to the boat. It was exceedingly hot, but there were some cool breezes coming from the lake and it looked promising for a cooling couple of hours. We had a lovely tour of the main part of the lake mainly to enable Grandma to enjoy the view, to see Maddens and remember her last trip 2 years ago. As we went around, the breeze grew stronger and the water became quite choppy and we received some cooling sprays! We made our way to Squaw Point - the sandbank where you can pull the boat up, anchor it and then enjoy swimming and socialising. We had a great time. We took the boat back and called in at Ernie's for drinks and snacks and to enable all our visitors to view Zac's new venture and new house.
This evening we had a big grill out at Pat's. Angie and Mike (the couple getting married) and Debs and Dave (Mike's parents) came over for kebabs.
A good but long day in intense heat.
However ...by 11pm it was 20 degrees cooler - yahoo!!
