Stan and I have both had a very chilled and relaxed day today getting over our hectic ten days coming across from New York. Emily and Zac had work so we were left on our own. We walked to downtown Brainerd which is just a small shopping street and went to the North Wind Grill for breakfast. I had held out all this time on the pancakes and maple syrup, but today I gave in and had only one (size of a large plate!), with butter, maple syrup, egg and bacon! Lovely!
We had a look in the few shops that there are and noticed big changes in the year we had been away. My wool shop had closed down and become an antique shop. One of the antique shops had become a charity shop and two other shops had changed their produce but not their managers.
By now it was getting quite a hot so we walked back to the house. Then I decided to walk round the corner to the material shop. Stan sat on the stoop and waited for me while I went in to what, is to me, an Aladdin's Cave!
We just chilled for the rest of the afternoon until the workers returned. Went to have dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings which is a sports bar like none in the UK. The walls are papered with TV's all showing various sports programmes. You then order chicken wings of varying spice heats, with side dishes, if you want them.
From there, shopping at Target and then to watch the Home Run Derby on TV.
